At Hakuna Matata resort we not only cater for luxury glamping with all the trimmings and camping sites where you can do all the fun stuff you enjoy in your own tents and gear. We also cater for people who might be new to camping or those that still want to experience the normal camping adventure but don’t have their own gear or don’t want to put up the tent (cos that is fun right???!!). So we offer ready-made tents and camping gear at an affordable level that we term ‘Half-glamping’.

Timon:

Timon currently has 2 ready-made canvas tents on raised platforms with roofs. One tent has 2 single beds and the other has a double bed. Sleeping bags, pillows and lanterns are also provided. There is a firepit and cast iron cooking gear for your campfire. There is also a covered seating area with table and bench seats and light, a water tank with potable water, and a toilet. Timon is situated on the back track about 200 metres away from Pumbaa, the closest camping area. It is very secluded. Great for small groups!!

There is accommodation for 4 adults currently with a 3rd tent to be installed in 2026. However, there is space for others to pitch their own tents if they desire.

Timon costs $100 per person per night.

Sarafina:

Sarafina is located in a ravine next to a dam, so cannot be viewed from anywhere unless you are in the area, so guests again feel like they are isolated from others. There is a deck over a side of the dam with a 2 person seat swing and coffee table and rugs / cushions, as well as lighted gas torches. There is a tent which has 2 sections; the bedroom which has a mattress on the floor with numerous blankets and pillows, and then the other section has a shelf with books and games and rechargeable lighting.

Sarafina has a camp toilet structure and camp solar shower bags. There is a firepit and firewood, and timber seats and table. There is campfire cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. There is mood lighting with the onus of the area being romance.
